A
very marginal day on this day but with not much to do I decided to have
a chase and see what might unfold. I decide early to head to the N/E of
the state in the area of Mt Buller to Mt Hotham.
Karl
didnt have anything on so he came along for the ride and his vast
weather knowledge was very helpful on this day.
Once
over the ranges we could clearly see a cell forming over Buller but more
interesting was what was building to the N/E of Buller so we kept on
going.
Near
Myrtleford things really started to get interesting and a cell quickly
developed. The speed of which it built was amazing and took us by
suprise. The storm was sitting over the area near Mt Beauty and there
were reports of lightning in this area. Hail shafts were visable but
hail could not be confirmed at ground level.The cell died as quickly as
it built but was very powerful. |
